This week's Novice Nook article is entitled "The Four Homeworks" and discusses the four types of tasks Heisman thinks are necessary for chess improvement: * 1. Practice playing slow games (surely GK games fill that bill!) 2. Tactical (or other) problems 3. Reading annotated master games 4. Reading other instructive material * He discusses balancing these four tasks, recommends some books, programs and websites and in general does a pretty good job in a few pages of setting out a realistic guide to how to study chess.
